Byron Bay Eyecare is Byron Bay's only independent and family-run optometry practice. We are passionate about helping people, thorough eye care and also have the Byron Shire's biggest range of optical frames and sunglasses. We love quality eyewear and beautifully designed spectacles.
Why we chose to be independent?
Why we chose to be independent?
Independence chose us! We've worked for corporate chain stores and don't enjoy meeting KPIs or being profit driven. Rather, our heart lies in the local community and helping individuals to achieve great vision while looking and feeling terrific.

Stephen Brady
Stephen has been practising optometry for over 30 years and has been working at the practice since 2000. Stephen has relished furthering his education, completing masters subjects in Behavioural Optometry and is a member of OA, ACBO and ACSO.
In his spare time, Steve composes digital music and enjoys reading. No wonder he’s done so much study.
Rebecca Bertram
Bec is an experienced optometrist with over 11 years in the optical industry, including 8 years in clinical practice. After graduating with Distinction and completing her residency in country Victoria, she moved to the Northern Rivers in 2018. Bec is passionate about delivering high-quality eyecare and building lasting relationships with her patients. Outside of work, she enjoys gardening, ceramics and spending time with her two young children.
Giving back
We are a collection point for used glasses which go to third world countries every year. It is so rewarding. We also love getting involved in community events and initiatives in and around the Byron Shire. We are also passionate about supporting the local economy and so make the effort to shop small and local, supporting other local families and business owners. It's worth it.
