Warringal Optometrist was established in 1987 to provide quality, tailored eye care solutions in a relaxed and caring environment. Now 30 years later we continue to build relationships and believe that what is good for the patient will be good for the practice.
Independence allows us choice and time. We use cutting- edge technology, have access to new treatments via continued education and are able to source our choice of quality and stylish products. All this allows us to customize each patients experience.
Our local community is friendly and we enjoy being a part of it. It still gives us a buzz when people in the practice know one another and seem to vie for who has been a patient of ours the longest!!
I decided to study Optometry when I was at University, a career which would allow me to deal with people and give me independence.I graduated from the University of Melbourne in 1984 and I enjoy the challenges that optometry presents. In 2000 I was one of the first optometrists in Australia to complete further education at the University of New South Wales and Boston USA to become therapeutically endorsed. After over 30 years in my own practice it has proven to be rewarding both professionally and personally. I also enjoy spending time with family and friends. I have an appreciation for good food and good wine, and like to find time to fix and tinker with things.
I decided to be an Optometrist at the age of 16. I enjoyed optics, physics and wanted to deal with people. Now after over 30 years in practice I still enjoy listening to people, helping with their visual needs and seeing them look great whether it be in new set of spectacles or contact lenses. Optometry is still ticking all the boxes!! Mostly I love spending time with family and close friends' good food and wine thrown in. I enjoy keeping fit and am slowly ticking off all those things on my bucket list.
I graduated from the University of Melbourne in 1983. She enjoys general optometry. Having worn spectacles from an early age, I understand patient concerns and I have the appropriate recommendations whether it be spectacles or contact lenses. I am a member of the Cornea & Contact lens Society of Australia. In my spare time I enjoy cooking and exploring cuisines from other countries. I love exercising, sewing, knitting and other crafts. When given the opportunity, I love holidaying and spending more time with my family.
My interest in pursuing a career as an optometrist was first sparked at secondary school, during my Science unit on vision and the eye. I was fascinated by how amazing the gift of sight is and how the human eye allows us to experience the world in so much detail. One of the most rewarding aspects about optometry is having the ability to help people of all ages and enhance peoples' lives. In my spare time, I love playing the violin and piano; music has always been a major part of my life, and continues to be.
Zenia joined us in October 2021 and has received a warm reception from both our team and patients alike. Hailing originally from New Zealand, where she graduated in Optometry Honours with a therapeutic endorsement, Zenia has almost a decade of experience in the industry. She enjoys providing high quality, customised eyecare and loves that working as an optometrist allows her to serve the community and make a meaningful difference. Zenia has a keen interest in the diagnosis and management of dry eye disease, multifocal contact lens fitting and myopia management. Outside of work, Zenia enjoys dancing, reading philosophy and spending time in nature.
Our friendly team is always there ready with a smile and ready to listen or help. OGS is our preferred charity which we support through direct donation.
