Dr Ebru Efem
My interest in becoming an eye care professional began during my early years at school. I have worn glasses since the age of six, and I was always fascinated by optometrists. I have a strong passion for delivering comprehensive care to my patients. I also have a Masters in Orthoptics and have been working at the Royal Children’s Hospital for six years. My special interest is paediatric eye care, I find that it adds more joy to my career as an optometrist. In my spare time, I love to spend time with my family and friends. I love exploring new places for good food, and love travelling. I thrive to keep a good work-life balance and give my best to my patients and loved ones.
Dr Alisha Shastri
I have always had a big interest in health and giving back to others in the community. I decided to become an optometrist to grow my knowledge and skills on health and to give back to those in the best way required. I love that I get to see patients every day from different backgrounds and experiences who help me grow as a practitioner. It is a very rewarding career as I am able to provide the best possible ocular health care to those in need. I love to spend time with my friends and family. I love the travel and find new experiences both in local areas and further abroad. I love to research about trending topics, keep up with the latest news and technologies and finding new ways to learn new concepts. I love to be involved in team sport and play both netball and volleyball.
Giving back
iOptical strives to support our community and beyond. Currently, we are participating in Glasses for Kids to help remove vision impairment as a potential barrier to educational engagement. This program allows us to give back to our community and help support the new generation. We have also been involved in local school fundraisers to help support the building of a new secondary school, and providing information on our services and how this can help the community.
