At Loom Optical, we’re free to choose the technology, lenses, and eyewear that best suit each individual, and to tailor every appointment without the constraints or sales pressures of corporate optometry.

I became an optometrist because I’ve always been fascinated by the precision of vision and the difference it makes in people’s lives. I love the blend of science and care — using clinical skill to solve visual challenges while building genuine connection with patients.
It’s deeply rewarding to help someone see clearly and comfortably, often in ways that transform how they experience the world. Every day brings the opportunity to combine problem-solving with empathy, which keeps my work both meaningful and inspiring.
Outside of work, I love staying active and spending time outdoors — whether it’s CrossFit, mountain biking, or a quick dip in the ocean. I also treasure time at home playing games with my daughter.
Giving back
At Loom Optical, we believe in giving back to the community that supports us. We take part in local initiatives, collaborate with other small businesses, and donate to community fundraisers and events whenever we can.
Kirsten also contributes to the education and development of future optometrists through her involvement with Deakin University.
Our commitment extends to sustainability — partnering with independent eyewear makers who prioritise ethical production, supporting local manufacturing, and using Australia’s first biomass lens material from CR Labs.
