Our Optometrist, Elspeth Wrigley, brings extensive experience and a warm, compassionate approach to every appointment. With additional training in Paediatric Eye Care, Elspeth is passionate about supporting children's vision from infancy through adolescence. She understands how vital good vision is for learning and development, and she creates a friendly, relaxed environment where kids feel comfortable and parents feel confident.
We also offer advanced myopia control treatments to help slow the progression of short-sightedness in children and teenagers. Using the latest evidence-based methods—including specially designed contact lenses and tailored optical strategies—we aim to protect long-term vision and reduce the risk of serious eye conditions later in life.
In addition, Focused Care Optometry provides expert care for patients requiring complex contact lens fittings, including lenses for keratoconus, post-surgical eyes, high prescriptions, and other challenging visual needs. We work closely with each patient to ensure the best possible comfort, vision, and eye health outcomes.

From a young age, I was drawn to maths and science, always fascinated by how these disciplines could be applied to real-world problems. With a doctor as a father, I naturally considered medicine as a career, but life had other plans. When I was awarded the Vice Chancellor’s Scholarship to Queensland University of Technology —an opportunity I couldn’t turn down—I discovered Optometry as the perfect way to combine my love for science, mathematics, and patient care. Before beginning my Master’s in Optometry, I made a commitment to myself: if this was going to be my path, I would strive to become the best optometrist I could be. Since then, I haven’t looked back. I truly enjoy working with people and using my skills to improve their vision and enhance their overall quality of life.

At Focused Care Optometry, we are proud to support our local community through meaningful connections and outreach. We're passionate about educating the next generation on the importance of eye health, regularly visiting daycare centres and kindergartens to share our knowledge in a fun and engaging way.
