Dandenong is a thriving multicultural hub, filled with lovely families, great industry and amazing food!
As I have worn glasses since I was 5, I have always been amazed at all the gadgets that optometrists use. When I was old enough, I wanted to learn to use them for myself, and now here I am! I love to travel and photographing the beautiful places I visit, as well as playing most sports.
I have always loved taking the time to get to know people and understand their needs. Optometry has allowed me to work with people and provide creative solutions to their vision problems - for over 20 years now. In my spare time, I enjoy playing violin in the Stonnington Symphony Orchestra. I'm also a member of the Victorian Music Teachers Association and currently teach piano.
Being very short-sighted growing up, I decided to become an optometrist to help improve people's quality of life. After graduation, I worked regionally for three years, where I gained extensive experience in many aspects of optometry. In 2018, I joined The Eye Collective where I developed special interests in Behavioural Optometry, Myopia Control and Dry Eye Treatment. I've been a practicing optometrist for just over 5 years, and I believe the key to achieving excellent vision is open communication so that we can devise a personalised plan to suit your needs together. I speak fluent Mandarin and Taiwanese. Outside of work, I enjoy travelling, being a foodie and keeping fit.
Some of the team at The Eye Collective by Russo volunteer abroad in Sumba, Indonesia, where they provide eye care to those remote communities who do not have access to optometric and surgical services. More locally, we also conduct vision screenings and educational talks to many of the local schools and doctors in the Dandenong region.
