When I was in high school, my uncle was an optometrist in Cooma NSW, the gateway to the Snowy Mountains. I thought what a cool job and it fitted perfectly with my love of maths and sciences. I have now been practising for more than 33 years. Whilst I enjoy Brisbane's warm climate, I do like to escape and indulge my love of snow skiing in the northern hemisphere for a couple of weeks each summer.
