As an independently owned Optometrist practice, we are able to take the time to place a particular emphasis on the health of your eyes and have the freedom to recommend whats best for you, always. We can also take the time to help you make frame selection easy with a one-on-one personalised frame consultation.
The Langwarrin community are diverse and we are passionate about their wellbeing.
After three years working in regional Victoria, Melanie returned to Melbourne and established Vision One Eyecare in 2006. She specialises in children's vision, particularly vision-related learning delays, and has undertaken extensive training through ACBO and the American Optometric Extension Program. Her expertise includes vision therapy for visual dysfunction, strabismus, amblyopia, learning delays and autism spectrum disorders. She holds a postgraduate certificate in Ocular Therapeutics, enabling prescription of eye medications. Melanie frequently provides behavioural vision care for children and adults with special needs including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Sensory Processing Disorder, ADD and ADHD. A Fellow of the Australasian College of Behavioural Optometry and former National Board Director, she graduated from University of Melbourne with first-class honours.
Before joining Vision One Eyecare in 2019, Anita gained experience in Gippsland managing eye diseases including glaucoma, diabetic conditions, and uveitis, plus training medical students. During her Doctor of Optometry training, she worked in clinics across Australia and the UK, gaining therapeutic prescribing qualifications. She completed Advanced Children's Vision certification in 2018. Anita specialises in acute eye conditions and children's vision.
Melissa's interest in children's vision led her to optometry. After 8 years in general practice and completing a Graduate Diploma in Advanced Clinical Optometry, she developed expertise in paediatric eye care, contact lenses and post-surgical management. For the past 11 years, she's worked at a specialised children's practice, managing referrals from nurses, teachers and optometrists for vision problems, eye alignment issues and vision-related learning difficulties. She provides spectacles, contact lenses and vision therapy. Melissa is passionate about delivering quality vision care to all ages.
Vision One Eyecare provides screenings in the local community to primary schools and kindergartens. A number of our Optometrists assist globally, travelling to remote locations to treat preventable blindness.
